Switzerland: report 2009
June 2009 : The summer festival at the Résidence Beauregard allowed young and old alike to share a special moment of African stories, music and dance all rounded off by an exotic meal prepared by the excellent chefs.
The weather was also kind so we were able to enjoy the evening under a sky full of stars.
We would like to sincerely thank the Résidence Beauregard and its staff for their warm welcome.
July – August 2009: Vreni has performed many concerts this summer with her barrel organ to raise funds for the orphans. Thank you on their behalf.
September 2009 : As part of its coverage of the Forum Media North-South on World Hunger, which took place in Geneva, the television channel TV5 Monde broadcast a programme recorded in June on the work of Sophie in Gao. This programme should not be missed.
October 2009 : A benefit evening took place on Saturday October 3rd in the Salle des Morettes in Prangins. More than 120 people shared an evening of concerts and a wonderful meal.
After the meal, Corinne Sinner sang songs from her recently released album.
The Red Brothers followed with their interpretation of many Shadows classics then Eric and Laurent held a tombola. The evening finished with dancing led by Corinne, Martin and Jean-Paul.
A warm thank you to everyone involved in the success of this evening ; donors, musicians, chefs and volunteers. The money raised will be used to buy milk powder for the orphans.
November 2009 : For the third time the AAG has been lucky enough to benefit from part of the proceeds from the theatrical evening organised by the International Richelieu Club.
We would like to thank the president, Madame Anne Pernet, and the members for their generosity. A big thank you also to the troupe from the Théâtre de l’Espérance.
December 2009: The year finishes on an unhappy and pessimistic note. The recent abductions of hostages in Mali and Mauritania have forced us to be very prudent, all trips have had to be cancelled. The transportation of warm clothing and blankets, as well as other provisions, will have to wait until safer times.
