Switzerland: report 2011

January – February 2011 :  As a trip to Mali will soon be undertaken, we are looking for clothes for the smallest infants.  The collection, organisation and preparation of these clothes and this trip are our current preoccupations.

We still hope to be able to send a container to Gao.  We have a lot of material to send including a dental cabinet and various pieces of equipment for medical analysis.  We are appealing to the generosity of everyone : individuals, companies and any other donors.  Thank you in advance for your help with this.

The AGM is scheduled to take place on 1st April. 

More information will follow in March.

March 2011  :  All our attention is focused on the construction of the Reception Centre and the president’s trip which will allow the transportation of many of the clothes collected for newborns.  The president will also arrive before the end of the major construction work and the departure of the Nubian roofing masons.

Mission Accomplished!

April 2011  :  Our AGM took place in Burtigny in the presence of 18 members of the Association.  Thank you for this attendance.  The meeting was followed by refreshments.

May 2011  :  ‘A Humanitarian Meal’ in Begnins.  Thanks to the initiative of Eric and Micheline the sale of these ‘balls of cheese’ has increased the funds for our container shipment.  A huge thank you to them and to the wine cellar, Jean-Paul Metroz & Fils.

June 2011  :   An appeal transmitted on the RSR airwaves by Jean-Marc Richard for ‘Chacun Pour Tous’, resulted in numerous phone calls with offers of material for our Reception Centre.

Thank you to RSR and its generous donors, particularly; GAVILLET SA in Lausanne who donated furniture and office supplies and; l’ECOLE HÔTELIERE DE LAUSANNE who donated stainless steel kitchen furniture, all good quality equipment.
