Switzerland: report 2006

January-February 2006: Preparations are under way for the trip to Mali planned for the 12 th February. Clothes, quilts, blankets and medicines must be packed, labelled and weighed to the nearest gram! 210kg will travel to Marseille by car and then by plane to Gao.

Everything arrives safely and is delivered directly to Sophie.

March 2006: The General Assembly takes place on Tuesday 14 th March at 8pm at the Chiblins Mill. Thanks to all the members who attended. We extend our thanks to Chantal, our treasurer, for all her work who is leaving the committee. As no one has come forward to accept the post, Félicie will take over. We end the evening with a slide show and a video taken during the latest trip. Refreshments are provided including 'bita', a paste made with millet flour, milk, vanilla and sugar.

On the 20 th March an appeal is made in the press for funds to help the orphans, medical equipment and a container to transport aid to Mali .
