January 2010: We are very disappointed as we have had to cancel our trip to Mali this year, at least for the time being. There is no point taking unnecessary risks and putting our local operations in danger.

The only way to deliver the vehicle and material we have gathered in Switzerland is to pay for a container. To this end, we are looking for funds.

August 2010 : The first months of this year have been taken up trying to resolve various problems connected with our construction projects, travel and transport to Mali and the restructuring of the Committee in Geneva. We have therefore been unable to organise fundraising activities as we would have liked.

However :

For all barrel organ enthusiasts ( and those who would like to become so ), we have great pleasure in announcing a concert of various barrel organs.

This will take place at Longirod on Saturday 21st August 2010 from 4pm to 6pm. Our good friends Vreni and Peter Hiltebrand will host the concert.

Refreshments will be offered and a collection in favour of the Association will be made.

September–October 2010 : The journey from Burtigny to Gao had to be prepared with the utmost discretion due to the volatile security situation in Mali. On the 6th of September a convoy of six vehicles set out for Mali containing 13 people, including the Vaud president of the AAG. France, Spain, Morocco, the Western Sahara and Mauritania were crossed in 14 days, often on very poor roads and under the scorching sun.

Apart from a puncture and a broken clutch, nothing tarnished this fantastic adventure and everyone arrived safely. We took a 4x4, a new engine for the truck, clothes for the children, medical and a lot of other material.

An enormous thank you goes to all our donors and to the Seniors team and the Jeunesse en Mission.
